Rollers or Compactors are engineering vehicles used to compact soil, gravel, concrete or asphalt in road construction. Other common uses are at landfills and in agriculture.
Rollers can be used to flatten and level out uneven ground and roadways, compacting small bumps in the soil base for roadways. Sheepsfoot or Padfoot Rollers have lots of little bumps or knobs most suited for compaction of plastic soils such as clay or silt. Smooth Drum or Vibratory Rollers use static pressure, vibration and impact to compact materials such as dirt, gravel, rocks, sand and asphalt.
Rollers are used alongside graders and watercarts to achieve the best outcome.
Projects we have used rollers on include: Roads; Driveways; House/Building Pads.
